ETAPS e. V. is a non-profit association founded in 2011 in Germany.

About The Association

European Joint Conferences on Theory and Practice of Software—ETAPS, e. V.—is a non-profit association that was founded on 31 March 2011 and is registered in Saarbrücken, Germany.

The aim of the association is the furthering of information dissemination concerning research on the theory and practice of software. To this end, the association shall promote the field and its researchers by the organisation of dedicated activities, especially through the ETAPS conference series.

Activities of The Association

The association undertakes a variety of activities to support the community and the ETAPS conference.

  • ETAPS e.V. supports local organisers of the ETAPS conferences by managing contracts and providing partial funds for:
    • gold open access publication of the ETAPS proceedings in Springer’s LNCS series,
    • publication of workshop proceedings in EPTCS, and
    • an executive licence of the EasyChair conference management system.
  • ETAPS e.V. supports the local organisers by providing money for travel grants and student scholarships.
  • In cooperation with Springer, ETAPS e.V. provides financial backing for the ETAPS Doctoral Dissertation and Test-of-Time Awards.
  • ETAPS e.V. maintains the ETAPS conference and ETAPS association websites.
  • ETAPS e.V. fosters community engagement in software science by organizing the blog, managing social media, and hosting the New Year’s reception.
    • This also includes support for retired researchers, offering them the opportunity to request a waiver for their registration fees.

Membership

Become member

Membership is open to any natural or legal person who agrees to endorse and promote the Association’s purposes that are listed in the charter referenced above. Members have free online access to the Springer LNCS proceedings of the ETAPS conference series. There is currently no fee for a three-years membership; after this point in time, the membership can be renewed under the then valid conditions.
